Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has been caught telling teammates Fred and Alex Telles to “stop playing football” in an insult-filled rant over their lack of professionalism.

The Brazilian duo were filming outside United’s Carrington training ground when the Portuguese international called them and told them to stop filming and start training.

The encounter was captured as part of Telles’ video “A Day in the Life” with Brazilian football marketing agency O Clube Football, with the footage emerging on social media this week.

Fernandes could be United’s next captain, given the possibility of Harry Maguire being relieved of the captaincy this season.

As Sportsmail reported this week, United will retain the England international centre-back, but could be stripped of the responsibility to lead the team.

It comes after a visibly shaky season in 2021-22 in which Maguire’s leadership and defensive qualities were repeatedly called into question.

It’s not clear exactly when this footage was filmed, but allegations of dirty standards and unprofessionalism have plagued the US dressing room in recent seasons.

New manager Erik Ten Hag is already making his mark on the club and would not be so kind to see team members filming social content outside the club’s training ground.

Telles signed for United for £15m in 2020. He made 26 appearances in all competitions last season but is not believed to be a long-term solution for Tin Hag at left-back.

Meanwhile, Fred has been at Old Trafford since joining for £52m in 2018. Ten Hag has made no secret of the fact that he wants to overhaul his midfield this summer, which has left Fred’s playing time in doubt.
