Launched in 2019, Apple’s streaming service surprised a lot of people, even loyal fans of the brands. When it was first announced in one of the company’s infamous keywords, I made sure to upload original content served up with some of Hollywood’s biggest hitters like Steve Carell, Jason Momoa, and even Oprah.
But like any good streaming service: content is king. Slowly but surely, Apple TV+ is making a name for itself as the platform for critically acclaimed on-demand television. In a short period of time, Apple TV+ has already won a number of Emmy Awards and even the Academy Award for Best Picture. A feat not even Netflix has managed to achieve.
Its recent string of successes has proven that the company has expanded beyond phone, tablet and computer capabilities, as it is in a position to compete directly with other powerful media outlets. The streaming service has now spent three years building a strong library of original shows targeting a wide demographic with dramas, comedies, documentaries, and even children’s shows.
Not only that, but it’s competitively priced at just £4.99 per month, which is a much cheaper value proposition than other value services like Disney+ and Amazon Prime. Even better, if you recently purchased an Apple device, you may be entitled to an extended free trial to check out some content before committing to a subscription.
