Can you hear that? It’s the rumble of Amazon Prime Day. It is a whisper in the winds of deals and deals. It’s the sound of this year’s second-biggest shopping event (sorry Jeff), and it’s rocking, getting closer and closer.
That’s right, bargain hunters, a two-day shopping spree looms large, and if you’re an Apple fan, you won’t want to miss it.
While it’s hard to know exactly which Apple devices will be in Prime Day sales this year — Amazon is keeping that silence until the big day itself — expect to see AirPods, Apple Watch, iPhones, MacBooks, iPads, and more get a healthy discount.
Of course, it’s not just Apple deals that will be able to sink your teeth into this day. General technology products, such as robotic vacuum cleaners, laptops and Bluetooth speakers, as well as home appliances, appliances, fashion and more are also expected to be introduced.
As always, the shopping experts at IndyBest will be with you every step of the way, filtering junk mail to bring you the best deals on offer. Want to know when Prime Day starts this year and what Apple deals to expect? I’ve got you covered.
When will the Prime Day Apple deals start?
Amazon Prime Day is back, and it’s back in the regular July slot. In 2020, it was held in October thanks to the global pandemic, and last year, Amazon held the sale in June, citing transportation concerns and the impact of the Olympics.
Although we don’t have an exact date yet, Amazon has confirmed that it will take place in July of this year. It usually happens on Mondays and Tuesdays, sometime in the middle of the month. In 2019, Prime Day started on July 15, and in 2018, it started on July 16. We can’t say for sure when exactly that could happen, but we’re currently looking at either July 11 or July 18.
Need Amazon Prime to buy Prime Day Apple deals?
Unfortunately yes. You must be a Prime subscriber to participate in Apple Prime Day sales. It hasn’t been called Prime Day for any old reason.
An Amazon Prime membership costs £7.99 a month or £79 for a year. Signing up couldn’t be easier, all you have to do is go to the Amazon Prime landing page and enter your details.
Smart shoppers will want to sign up for a 30-day free trial, which still gives you access to the sale. You’ll need to do this at the beginning of July, though, because it only lasts 30 days. Once you are done shopping, just cancel your membership and you will not be charged. Thanks later.
What do you expect from Prime Day Apple deals in 2022?
Nothing is off the cards when it comes to Prime Day sales, and that also applies to the tech giant that doesn’t usually sell to Apple. Expect to see pretty much every device in the Apple ecosystem for sale, including iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, AirPods pro earbods, and even AirTags for sale.
The big question is, will the latest devices like the iPhone 13 pro and iPhone SE, the fifth generation M1 iPad air or even the latest Mac Studio go on sale? We are quietly confident. Last year we saw the new iPhone 12 pro get a nice price cut, so don’t be surprised if the 13 gets one too.
Apple’s best deals last year in the UK
There’s no better way to predict what kind of discounts we’ll see on sale than just turning back the clock and looking at last year’s Prime Day deals on Apple devices.
The 2021 sale saw Apple’s AirPods pro drop to £187.99, down from £249. The Pro is on sale now (£189, Amazon.co.uk), but we’d expect this to drop further during Prime Day, considering they’re almost three years old and the second-generation AirPods Pro are highly rumored to arrive. In the fall.
Shoppers were also able to save £140 on the iPhone 12 (£649, Amazon.co.uk), with Amazon dropping from £849 to £709 last year. Expect similar price cuts for the iPhone 13.
We’ve also seen the Apple Watch Series 6 (£301.80, Amazon.co.uk) get a huge price cut, bringing it down from £379 to £329. With the release of the new Apple Watch, expect both old and current models to get a great discount.
Those looking for a new MacBook should keep their eyes peeled on this rush day seeing the 13in Apple MacBook pro with M1 chip (£1,130, Amazon.co.uk) getting a £147 price cut taking the price to £1,152.
Whatever you’re looking for on Prime Day, it’s going to be a great time to pick up something new from Apple.

Amazon reportedly changes prices 2.5 million times a day, including RRP. The worst thing that can happen is thinking you found a good Prime Day deal, only to realize the discount wasn’t quite as much as Amazon made. We recommend adding the products you’re interested in buying on Prime Day to your wishlist now so you can see how much they’ve changed in price between now and the shopping increase itself in July.
