The latest Apple TV 4K is more affordable than ever

If you’re an Apple fan and are looking for a high-end streaming device or you’re shopping for a good graduation gift, the latest Apple TV 4K is currently on sale in a 32GB configuration at Amazon for $149.99 ($30 off), which is record low. Despite using a similar design to previous models, the 2021 version offers significantly improved performance thanks to the A12 Bionic processor. It also offers support for Wi-Fi 6 and HDMI 2.1, and includes a better Siri remote that’s easier to use (and less shaky).

While you can certainly buy more affordable streaming tools, like Chromecast for Fire TV Stick, Apple TV 4K offers the best all-round streaming experience, especially if you’re deeply integrated into the Apple ecosystem. It features a combination of great user experience, reliable performance, Dolby Vision and Atmos support, and add-ons like Apple Arcade and Apple Fitness Plus that you won’t find in cheaper 4K streaming tools.

We don’t think the improved performance justifies an upgrade if you already have the latest generation Apple TV, but if you own something older or don’t own a streaming device at all — like high school graduates leaving home for the first time — this might be a good deal to take advantage of. Looking to step up your drone photography? DJI’s Mavic 3 is the best consumer video and photography drone you can currently buy, offering excellent image quality and many great features. It is not only capable of shooting 4K video at up to 120fps as the Mavic 2 Pro but also has a longer flight time of 46 minutes. It’s also the first DJI drone that can transmit a 1080p/60fps live stream to the included RC Pro controller, meaning the camera view is rendered with specs more similar to what’s actually being recorded.

While we were disappointed with its telephoto lens and lack of some features – namely the ability to take panoramic photos and hyperlapse photos – DJI’s Mavic 3 remains a great choice for more experienced drone pilots. Its main drawback is that it is usually expensive at $2,199, but today, you can get it for $2,049 when you buy it from Amazon or DJI. This still isn’t cheap, but it’s the best deal we’ve seen since the drone launched last year. Read our review.

DJI Mavic 3 Drone

DJI’s Mavic 3 is a small drone ideally suited for more experienced folks that can shoot 4K video at up to 120 frames per second and offers a long battery life. It’s also the first DJI drone to transmit 1080p/60fps live streaming.

Elgato’s Facecam is one of our favorite webcams, offering great performance and video quality in addition to a variety of other details. It is capable of recording in 1080p resolution with up to 60 frames per second. It also supports an 82-degree field of view and provides a useful fixed focus, meaning you don’t have to worry about the lens getting in and out of focus while you’re on the go. Additionally, you have the option to use the webcam companion software to customize your look, which is useful for Zoom calls. Other things we liked about the webcam were the included privacy cover and tripod thread on the bottom of it, something that allows creators and other users to easily attach it to a tripod.

However, Facecam is not without its drawbacks. It doesn’t come with a built-in microphone, for example, which can be a huge drawback for those who don’t already own a microphone or a headset. It’s also pretty pricey, but thankfully, a few retailers are now selling it for an all-new low. It’s usually $199.99, and it’s on sale for $149.99 at Amazon, Elgato, and Best Buy.

If you couldn’t get your hands on the 2021 Echo Show 8 while on sale during last week’s Mother’s Day sale, GameStop (of all places) is currently giving you another chance to save on a second-generation smart display. Normally $129.99, Amazon’s go-to model is on sale at GameStop for $90.99, which is just $1 off the all-time low we saw last week.

We consider the latest Echo Show 8 to be the best smart display for most people, one that improves on its last-generation predecessor in two useful ways. Unlike the first-generation model, for example, the Alexa-enabled smart display is able to keep you centered in frame as you go on video calls. It also touts an improved 13MP camera, including the ability to watch videos, take Zoom calls, and control smart home devices. Read our review.

Amazon Echo Show 8 (2nd generation)

The Echo Show 8 is the mid-sized smart display in Amazon’s current Echo lineup and can be used to display weather, news, calendars, grocery lists, and more. You can also use it to control your smart home devices, watch streaming video, or listen to music. It even supports video calling via Zoom and Amazon’s Alexa calling service.

iMac offers everything you need in a computer and comes in a variety of fun colors.

Like the Apple TV 4K, Apple’s redesigned iMac 24 inch makes a great graduation gift, especially since it’s less expensive today. Right now, you can buy the awesome Amazon pink or blue desktop with an eight-core CPU, seven-core GPU, 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage for $1,149.99 instead of $1,299, which is a new low. Absolutely.

Sleek, slim and elegant, the device comes with a super-fast Apple M1 processor and features everything you could need from a PC in one package. This includes a good webcam, keyboard, mouse, monitor, speaker system, and microphones. Just note, however, that its port selection is somewhat limited—the base model only comes with two Thunderbolt/USB-4 ports and a headphone jack—and you can’t upgrade memory or storage after purchasing the computer. However, we think the 2021 model is the best iMac for most people, it’s fun and practical. Read our review.
