If you hate the clutter of wires, you’ll want to watch the latest YouTube video, which highlights the Mission’s USB power cable for the Apple TV because it lets you plug your Apple set-top box directly into a USB port on your TV.

At $24.99, the Mission USB Power Cable is a nifty little accessory that lets you ditch the Apple TV‌ power cable. If you have a modern TV that has USB ports, you can get away with connecting your Apple TV to your TV instead of getting a separate power adapter.

If you thought there was no way a USB port could power an “Apple TV” continuously, you’re partially correct. The USB power cable is actually a 2000mAh battery pack that is powered by the TV’s USB port. Stores excess power from the USB port and then releases it when the Apple TV‌ requires more power than the USB port can supply.

So, by default, the mission power cable uses jumper power to power the Apple TV, and then backup battery power when power requirements are higher. Mission says it’s able to get the Apple TV on for hours without a problem, and that was true in our tests.

The cable and battery pack can be clipped onto the back of your TV for a no-mess wireless look, perfect for simplifying your entertainment setup, and universally compatible with TVs that have a USB port.
