H! To premiere the original Rom-Com in 2023, and set new unscripted shows

H! Engage in making original TV movies.

The NBCUniversal cabler has announced plans to begin programming original romantic comedies starting in 2023. The network has commissioned six films to start, though more details about the films aren’t readily available.

The move to made-for-TV movies on the network comes amid a changing tide in the world of cable and linear TV channels. NBCUniversal and other legacy media companies are diverting significant resources to broadcast efforts, leaving observers wondering about the future of traditional networks like E! it will be. Hallmark and Lifetime have both been a hit with their original movie slates over the years. Paramount Network is also set to become the home of weekly original films, though Paramount eventually abandoned those plans.

H! It continues to build its unrecorded offerings as well as adding many new offerings. Among them are “Celebrity Beef” hosted and produced by CEO Joel McHale, Executive Director of Stephen Curry’s “Black Pop”, and the travel series “Anthony Anderson and Mom: European Vacation” and “Raising a F***ing Star”. Anthony Anderson owes his mom Doris a lot. She gave up her dreams of being an actress to raise him. As a token of appreciation, he treats his mother to the trip of a lifetime – a six-week tour around Europe, to discover some of the wonders of the continent and experience a true cultural vacation. However, having that much quality time will be a real test for their relationship as the couple disagree about just about everything.

“Black Pop” (wt) – Premiere Early 2023

For the first time ever, a multi-part, archival series looking at the black American dream through decades of popular culture. The series will explore how black Americans have shaped our culture through film, television, music, and comedy.

CELEBRITY BEEF (WT) – Presented this summer for the first time

Everyone loves good beef…especially when celebrities are involved! Joel McHale returns to the network as host to this good old fashioned beef jerky. Each week, two celebrities go head-to-head in a light show, knives in hand and spices on the shelf, ready to cook up the best dish this side of the Hollywood Hills. Joel serves as a prosecutor, judge, and jury, eventually crowning a celebrity the winner of a cooking contest as well as helping the celebrity crush their meat once and for all.

Love Passionate – 2023

When it comes to matters of the heart, singles are willing to do just about anything to find love, even if it’s anything that puts their dating life in Todd Chrisley’s hands. In the new series “Love Limo,” hosted and directed by Todd Kressley, he directs one unlucky love song on a stormy day of speed dating that hopefully ends on date night and matches their dreams. Todd believes you can learn everything you need to know about another person within the first 20 minutes of meeting them and is about to put that theory to the test.
