“French artist and director Leos Carax’s first English-language feature is a stunningly absurd and ambitious (and almost entirely sung) melodrama set to an all-new soundtrack by Sparks. Together, they form a charming albeit unlikely pair, with seemingly little in common but their love for each other. Their relatively comfortable life in Los Angeles is turned upside down after the arrival of Annette, a single daughter with an unusual gift, which she plays dummy “.
