After marriage, no one approached me with films: Purnima Indrajith Interview | entertaining interview

Poornima Indrajith is back on screen after a hiatus. This time her comeback movie is “Cobalt Blue” by Sachin Kulkarani where she plays Sister Mary. Streaming on Netflix, the movie is about a brother and sister who fall in love with the same man. It is widely appreciated. Purnima talks to Manorama online about her second tour.

After a 20 year gap?

I only made films for two years, between 2000 and 2002 to be exact. That’s also just 7 movies. And there were two or three series as well. After marriage, no one approached me with roles. At that time I had decided not to act after marriage. Then of course she became busy with children and other responsibilities. But those close to me knew I was going back to the movies. That’s how much I love movies. I thought that sooner or later I would be approached for roles that would suit me. “Virus” was offered to me by Abu and Rima Calangal’s lover. That was my comeback movie after 18 years.

The first Bollywood movie

Since I come from a family of films, of course expectations are high. But fortunately I don’t have that pressure when I act in films in another language. Besides a new language, I was able to learn a lot of new things through this movie. I consider myself a newcomer who is eager to learn with every film. The director will only consider you as an artist. I have been able to enjoy and learn about the changes that have occurred in cinema in the last 18 years. Shot in Fort Kochi, the film addresses contemporary issues as well as love, family, friendship and secularism. The film has also captured the beauty of Kochi Fort in detail.

More other language films?

I listen to a lot of stories from Malayalam and other language films. I want to be part of good projects. I also listened to the story of a Tamil movie. Currently, I am filming for an Indian web series for Netflix.

About “Thoramkhem”

She was a very satisfying personality. I was able to do both younger (35) and older (65) versions of the character. So I had to lose weight. “Thuramukham” will be a part of history. Director Rajiv Ravi is someone who works without compromising his craft. I’m waiting for its release, and I’m also curious to see if I got it right.

You wear many hats (dancer, TV host, fashion designer, actor, model). What is your favorite?

I want to be known as an artist. Acting gives me a lot of joy and the above aspects are also important in cinema.

Do you discuss Indrajith’s performance with him?

I’m a fan of Indrajith. The acting that he started in his twenties continued to remain going strong into his forties. It is always fortunate that you are able to take on a variety of roles as an actor and gain an audience. Beuss in “Classmates” is someone we all know. Indran has been able to do many of these characters that can be relied upon on screen. And the audience loves seeing him in such characters.

What did Indrajith think about “Cobalt Blue”?

He was very supportive of me and told me that the movie had a South American feel. He said they were able to handle a sensitive topic beautifully. We obviously have a comfortable space because we come from the same profession.

Your paternity videos are very popular…

The world is getting smaller. Kids can access everything at their fingertips now. The important thing is to know if they are using it wisely. Parenting cannot take place with a rule book. The safety of children is the responsibility of the parents. We are aware of this fact. We believe in friendly parenting.
