Meghan Markle: Commentators discuss ’emotional’ speech
Royal author Tina Brown claims in her new book that Meghan and Prince Harry shared a desire, prior to their May 2018 wedding, to “be tools of global transformation that, once married, would function in Princess Diana’s famous stratosphere.” However, that desire runs the risk of clashing with the scrolling order within the royal family, the current hierarchy of which the Duchess seemed “oblivious,” according to Ms Brown.
In her new book, The Palace Papers, Ms. Brown writes: “In the rating system of the entertainment world, stellar power — wattage — equals power… Unfortunately, she seemed oblivious to the one deciding factor that would determine the outcome of her future plans: primogeniture.”
Despite their immense popularity, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will come after Kate and Prince William as well as Camilla and Prince Charles in the firm’s strict order.
After the birth of the three Cambridge children, Harry moved from third in line to the throne to sixth in line.
As the Duke of Cambridge was set to become king after his father became the Prince of Wales, Mr Brown noted “when Kate became queen, Meghan had to treat her tenderly”.

Meghan and Prince Harry met during the summer of 2016, and as the Duke told comedian James Corden during an interview in February last year, they quickly fell in love.
Their relationship came to light in October of that year, and Meghan and Harry made their first public appearance 11 months later, when together they attended the 2017 Invictus Games that were held in Toronto.
Before marrying Harry, the Duchess gave up her acting career and moved to the UK, ready to take an active role as a working member of the royal family.
In fact, she made a few engagements alongside Harry before her marriage, and in February 2018, the couple appeared with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at their first Royal Institution Forum in London.

Meghan and Prince Harry now live in California
According to a statement they shared on the now-defunct Sussex Royal Instagram account, they wanted to become financially independent from the sovereign while continuing to represent the Crown and Queen through royal duties and visits.
After this half-in-and-half solution was deemed impractical by senior members of the company, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they would be stepping down from their full-time roles.
As a result, they had to return all their royal patronage and honorary military titles.
They also had to give up representation for the Crown and no longer receive taxpayer-funded police protection.

Furthermore, they both ventured into the world of startups.
The Duchess has invested in California-based instant latte startup Clevr Blends, while Prince Harry has become chief impact officer at BetterUp for mental health and coaching.
In his recent interview with Hoda Kotb on NBC, the Duke of Sussex spoke about how “nothing has changed” for him and Meghan when it came to dedicating their lives to serving after stepping down from their royal roles.
He said, “For the two of us, this is the life you shared and we are committed to doing it together as a married couple forever.” Given the circumstances, we have moved this service life to the United States and will continue to do what we were doing before.
“So in that regard, nothing has changed for us. It’s a bit more complicated to have to kind of reboot.”
